About Us

Science-based cosmetic solutions

Lipidomics is based on maintaining the integrity of the skin barrier by topical administration of lipids.  Our products are based on lipids that are deficient in most people who suffer from dry, itching, eczemetous skin.

Positive Animal Data

In the mouse oxazlone model we have demonstrated that our proprietary lipid formulations perform as well or better than 1% hydrocortisone cream, a standard of care for the treatment of eczemetous skin.  The graph to the right details Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) in treated and control animals.

Clinical Trial Scheduled

We expect to begin a clinical trial with cosmetic endpoints in the second half of 2018 using our proprietary lipid formulation under the direction of Eric Simpson, MD at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Simpson is an international expert in clinical studies of eczema.

Michael Tippie, MS, MBA. CEO

Michael is a serial entrepreneur in the life sciences with 8 startups behind him, 2 IPO's, numerous venture financings and corporate deals.  In addition, Michael also spent some years focused on life science investments for Norwest Venture Partners and Medical Innovation Partners.  Immediately prior to Lipidomics Michael was CEO of TomegaVax, which was acquired by Vir Biotechnology and shortly thereafter Vir announced a $500 MM Series A financing.  Michael holds BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from Reed College and the University of Washington, respectively, as well as an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

Gitali Ganguli Indra, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder

Dr. Gitali Indra has more than 20 years of experience in skin biology and genetics. She has been working with skin and mouse model of epithelial cancer and skin diseases for the past 17 years and has published papers on fundamental biology of importance to the skin in reputed journals such as EMBO, Oncogene, Molecular Cancer Research, EMBO reports and MCB. Dr. Gitali Indra also holds the position of Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University. Her lab there is focused on the role of transcription factors in skin diseases, regeneration, repair and in cancer.  Dr.  Gitali Indra earned the BSc from Singereni Collieries Women's College in Kothagudem, India and the MS from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, India.  She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Institute of Genetics, Cell and Molecular Biology (IGBMC) at the University, Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France.

Arup Kumar Indra, PhD. Co-Founder and Chairman, Scientific Advisory Board

Dr. Arup Indra Co-Founded Lipidomics in 2016.  He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Oregon State University as well as an Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at Oregon Health Sciences University.

His research focuses on cellular signaling, skin development, stem cell biology, inflammatory skin disease, melanoma, tumor microenvironment, Mouse genetics, and transcriptional regulation.

His laboratory has  identified key factors that are essential in establishment and maintenance of a protective epidermal barrier, lack of which can lead to neonatal death or in a milder form can trigger onset of inflammatory skin diseases such as Atopic dermatitis (AD). The mechanism(s) of skin barrier formation and contribution of skin keratinocytes in triggering such immune responses in the presence of a leaky skin barrier are being investigated.   Dr. Arup Indra earned his Masters degree from Calcutta University, and his  Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology at the famous Jadavpur University, India.  He subsequently did Post Doctoral training with renowned molecular biologist Professor Pierre Chambon at IGBMC in Strasbourg, France.
